Adoram and Zadok were still asleep when Ephraim left the house. He had covered his head with a cloth. He also kept a black eye-patch in his bag for covering his left eye. This would serve as a form of disguise. He also carried a staff that served as his weapon. He journeyed to the city of Jerusalem which was only about half-a-mile from Bethany.
