The Windmills Of Amsterdam



AMSTERDAM, THE NETHERLANDS. August 2, 1983. Catalina Smit felt a mixture of joy and anxiety knowing she would be meeting her twenty year old daughter tomorrow evening at the Schiphol International Airport. She had not seen her only child, Jacqueline, in the past ten years. The last time she saw her was during her first and only vacation in the Philippines.

Three-Cornered Sun



“Three-cornered sun…” Josephine mused as she looked at Aguinaldo’s sketch.
“Yes. The national flag has a three-cornered sun! There is a star on each corner of the triangle,” Marcela said.
“What do the three stars represent?” Delfina asked.
“The three stars represent Luzon, Panay Island for the Visayas, and then Mindanao, the three principal islands of the Philippines,” Marcela replied.

Melchor and Gaspar were scared at what Balthazzar revealed to them. They both knew that myrrh was used for embalming the dead.

“Please be merciful to me! Please help me!” a blind man who was standing in front of the Al Arish exclaimed in the Egyptian tongue to passengers who had just arrived at the seaport of Rhinocolura. The passengers just came from Raphia, and had just crossed the River of Egypt.
